Decatur, GA (WVEE) – It comes almost 3 years after the incident, but finally A DeKalb County jury has convicted the man responsible for beating a Georgia State Trooper so badly it ended her career.
WSB-TV reports Garcia Venson was found guilty on eight counts of battery late Friday.
Garcia Venson reportedly beat trooper Kimberly Davis Prosecutors with her own gun after she shot him in a confrontation at the end of a high-speed chase in 2010.
Venson’s attorneys argued that he attacked the trooper, only after she threatened to kill him, when his hands were up where she could see them.
Quite the contrary, Davis says she feels the trial’s outcome shows , “that I was doing my job all along.”
Venson faces up to 80 years in prison.
